Watching one another from opposites sides of the room, their eyes meet and lock in one moment.  A sudden rush of made up memories rush through thier heads, memories that could be, emotions that could be felt. A love so intense and so profound but also a love so broken and painful. A limerance that melts away any boundary, a coming together and stripping away. A flame of love that warms but burns. For this reason they stay at a distance. For neither have decided whether it’s worth the energy that a love like this consumes. To melt and become one, to then peel away and become seperate once again. It’s not that they don’t think that it won’t be good, but it’s that they have both felt this before and they both know it takes a while to rebuild the home within themselves they once started off with.

Oh to groom eachother, to make a home in one another. To tell eachother secrets knowing that the other won’t ever tell. To slowly blink at one another, holding space for eachother in the eyes. To bring eachother gifts, tinkets the other will like. To knead eachother into dough, I’ll follow you wherever you go.
*headbump*
Curling, intertwining, knotting tails so we can never leave eachothers side. I’ll show you my belly if you show me yours.

They stick to staying away from eachother for they know if they get too close to the flame thier love will commence. When a love is so sweet you let yourself burn without thinking ahead. Once you melt into one, that cat becomes a part of you forever. It is impossible to be unchanged, untouched by them when you’ve shared a life together, even if it was for a fleeting moment.
